The Pale Blue Eye
I saw this last night, and as I expected, Christian Bale and Poe is a well made match...if you've seen it as well, feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments!

Bridgerton season 2 trailer
Admittedly, I've yet to finish season one as I'm a bit divided about the historical liberties taken and I'm not a fan of romances in general, but I'd be remiss not to mention the hit that is Bridgerton and that season 2 is due upon us very soon:

The Favorite Review
I've just seen the movie The Favorite starring Olivia Coleman as Queen Anne Stuart, Rachel Weisz as her close friend Lady Sarah Marlborough, and Emma Stone as her cousin Abigail Masham. The basic plot is Abigail, newly come to court, is a former lady whose family has fallen on hard times. Lady Marlborough pretty much runs the country for her ill, mentally and emotionally fragile friend. However, Abigail manages to win over the queen and begins to fight to keep her place bringing on a subtle war between the two. I found it good, witty, and a bit more highbrow than I anticipated, which was a good thing, though I will say I found the ending a bit too ambiguous, and I'm not sure if it was meant to be like that or not. I give it 3 and a half out of five stars. If your a fan of this era of British history and/or these actors, definitely see it.

Harlots Season Two Trailer
On July 11, Harlots, season two premiered on Hulu. I enjoyed the first season so I hope to finally begin catching up with this one. If you haven't seen it yet, I feel it's worth checking out, and I'm pleased to see Liv Tyler in it this time around!
